Bayer MaterialScience and marktunddesign opens up innovative ways for electronic applications. New material combinations make "switchless switch" possible.

"This little thing has a special quality, to revolutionize the electronic market.", explains Ralph Schneider, from Bayer MaterialScience, because the developed Tweezer is a technology showcase, which contains a new and totally invisible switch technology. "The innovation named EXTRACT combines the mechanical characteristics from chemical materials, that at the same time conduct light or electricity, and prefabricated parts.
Therefore it stands for a branch of technology, that is in the industry becoming more and more meaningful, "Mechoptronic", the interaction between mechanics, optics and electronics.

The core of the tweezer is the "Smart-Switch System" . When touched, it allows the light to flow through the arms, fully without a switch or wires. By touching the arms, the circuit is closed and the light turns on. Battery, LED´s and other electronical parts are positioned in the head of the tweezer.

marktunddesign was responsible for the design, the construction and the product management of EXTRACT. Moreover marktunddesign developed the product logo, the packaging, information brochures, 3-D animation, etc.
